Why there is water flowing sound from the refrigerator?: It is not malfunction, sound comes from normal working process of refrigeration cycle.
How can I get rid of the smell in the refrigerator?: a. The basic way is to clean and maintain the refrigerator regularly.
For example: removing expired food quickly, and ensure seal or wrap of the container secure, especially with strong smell food.
b. Other option are to place charcoal, lemon skin, dried tea leaves inside the refrigerator to get rid of the smell.
How can I clean the door of my refrigerator?: In order to protect the coating on the doors, please do not use any detergent or any rough material to clean the door surface. Please wipe with moistened soft cloth.
Why do both crushed and cube ice dispense when I select only crushed ice option?: Check ice tank if the size of ice cube is almost same. If it is different, this could happen. And this might be due to insufficient water in the water tank causing the cubes to be smaller than usual.
When one door closes, the other opens. Is this malfunction?: The compartments are connected by cold air pathway where the air pressure will lead to the opening of the other door, when one door is closed hardly. This is not malfunction. And it happens only with non-electric damper model.
Why there is condensation (dew) in the refrigerator?: Check if door is closed properly, and door is not opened too frequently. Condensation will disappear after refrigerator runs for a few hours usually. But if condensation does not disappear, wipe off with a dry cloth. If condensation repeat, contact Hitachi service center.
Why does the refrigerator sound very noisy?: It is normal that sound is generated during compressor running. But if you feel the sound is very noisy, it may be due to some vibration. Kindly check if the fridge is level and firmly installed on ground. If the sound is still very noisy, please contact Hitachi service center.
Why does the food in the refrigerator compartment freeze?: Check if temperature setting not "coldest". And check if the food is placed in front of the air vent. If so, move the food.
Why is the refrigerator/freezer compartment not cold?: a. Check temperature control dial and temperature setting.
b. Check the refrigerator is not directly facing the sunlight.
c. Check that the items are not overcrowded in the refrigerator. Too much food could block the cold air circulation. Make sure that the ventilation outlets are not blocked.
d. Check if the door is opened too frequently or for too long time.
Why does the ice maker of my Hitachi fridge stop making ice?: a. Check if the ice maker function is activated and LED indicator lights on.
b. Check if the water tank is filled with water.
c. Make sure the water tank is fully inserted into slot and pushed behind the line.
d. For the first time of ice making, it takes longer time (even 24 hours). After that, usually it would take 2-3 hours to make 8 ice cubes.
Why is the side of the refrigerator body hot?: In the side of the body, heat exchange pipe is installed. It can prevent dew formation. So this is normal phenomenon.
What type of food not to be stored in the Vacuum Compartment?: Food that is stored in a small container such like pudding, yogurt, and lactic acid beverages, cover with film lid.
The film lids may be inflated and partially peeled off.
What is Vacuum Compartment?: In vacuum compartment, oxygen density is reduced, because vacuum compartment is maintained a vacuum. By reducing oxygen, it prevents DHAs, vitamin and amino acids in food from oxidizing.
Where can I find the model and serial number?: Inside refrigerator compartment. Model name start with "R". And serial number starts with number and it has10 digits.

Do we need to connect refrigerator(water/ice dispenser model) to external water supply?: Hitachi refrigerator models with water dispenser has a water tank that connects directly to the water dispenser. Water must be pourred into water tank.
Should I clean the container in back/bottom (drain pan) periodically?: The container at the back/bottom side of the refrigerator is called drain pan. The water from defrosting process will be collected in it. You can just leave the water as it is, because water evaporates.
Can I put tea or juice in the water tank instead of water?: Use only drinking water in the tank.
What is the temperature range of freezer and refrigerator compartment.: Freezer compartment: -23°C to -16°C
Refrigerator compartment: 1°C to 5°C
Vegetable compartment: 4°C to 7°C
(all values depending on the temperature setting inside refrigerator, and ambient temperature)

How long does it take to reach the desired temperature after plug in the refrigerator?: It will take 3 to 4 hours.
How long do I need to wait before switching on the new refrigerator after it is delivered?: Wait for 2 to 3 hours to stabilize refirigerant inside refrigerator. After that connect power plug and switch on.
