Ho Chi Minh City, April 5, 2014- Hitachi Home Electronics Asia (S) Pte. Ltd. today announced that it has established Hitachi Home Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Socialist Republic of Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as "Vietnam"). Hitachi Home Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. commences operations on the 1st April 2014.

Home to a population of about 89million, Vietnam's consumer electronics industry plays an imperative and momentous role in the development of the country as it has grown substantially and strongly over the past few years. The Government's vision for 2020 targets the development of the electronics industry by setting up IT parks, an electronics association, and developing human capital.

"Part of the expansion plan is to strengthen our consumer electronics presence in the Indochina market. Hitachi Home Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. is the first company outside of Singapore to be established and 100% fully owned by Hitachi Home Electronics Asia (S) Pte. Ltd," said Mr. Hiroki Nakano, Managing Director of Hitachi Home Electronics Asia (S) Pte. Ltd. and Chairman of Hitachi Home Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd.

Hitachi Home Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. will continue to work alongside with its partners - Dai Phu Loc Corporation for business-to-consumer and Zodiac for business-to-business, to garner high market share in the home consumer business segment.

Hitachi Home Electronics Asia (S) Pte. Ltd. will continue to explore potential business opportunities in the Indochina market with further expansion plans in developing countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia.
