Washing Machines

If the laundry load is imbalance during the spin process, the washing machine will vibrate heavily, spin process may be interrupted in order to rebalance the laundry and the washing program may take a longer time to complete.

Please adhere to the following:

• Do not overload the laundry net.
• Do not put thick clothes (towels, denims/jeans) in the laundry net.
• Do not put big pieces of clothes (sheets, garment fabric) in the laundry net.
• Do not wash only the laundry bag with clothes. Please wash with other clothes.

Warm water was used during washing that result in the mist. The mist appears during the drying process which is not a malfunction.

Please check if machine is overloaded, and clothes are badly tangled with each other. Thin and thick clothes should be separated for better drying effect.

Please note that Tangle-Free operation will not be available if the program is set on ‘Rinsing’ or ‘Spinning’ mode only. Please also make sure that the washer is not overloaded.

This is because the clothes are not balanced inside the washing tub.When this occurs, please pause the spinning operation, open the lid and do some adjustment on the clothes. Make sure clothes are distributed evenly in the tub and not tilted to one side only.Please also make sure thatthe machine is installed on a level ground firmly.

This could be related to the fabric material of the clothing, such as woven or knitted items. In this case, turn the clothes inside out before washing to prevent fabrics from running off. It is better to separate them from other clothes to minimize the friction during washing, and to use a wash net to protect it. Adding a bit of the softener may be helpful as well. To remove the lint, you can try a lint remover.

Hitachi’s new front loading washers come with drain pump. The drain pump pushes and drains water at the end of washing/rinsing process. When the water is reduced to a certain low level, the noisy sound of rushing water in the drain pipe is heard. This is because the water is under pressure, meaning there is little air mixed with the water to make noise as it travels through the pipe.

The lint (drying) filter may have come off or blocked. Alternatively, you may use the ‘Silent’ operation.

a. Do clean up the drainage area regularly.
b. Kindly leave the door open to air for a while after washing.
c. Perform air jet dry function to remove the odors from tub.
d. Clothing after drying would be warm and might result in detergent smell, kindly take the clothes out soon after washing.
e. Do clean your washer tub regularly using tub clean function.
f. During draining, the draining condition may be not smooth due to the bubble foam from using too much detergent. The drainage process would add burden to the motor that would result in the bad smell.

Over long time of use, the washing tub surface could have dirt sticked to it. This dirt is not easy to be cleaned by brushing, if left unattended, slime and grime would appear and will eventually stick to the clothing. You may run the tub cleaning process by applying the washing machine tub cleaning powder that can be easily purchasable from the market.

When the power was cut off during operation, it will result the washing machine to be locked. Kindly restart the machine; wait for a while and then the lock would be released automatically when you hear a “click” sound. Kindly contact the service center if the lock is still not released.

Kindly check if the drain hose is installed properly and if any holes on it. Please check the conditions of the water supply hose and the one touch joint that links the tap to the water supply hose. It could either happen due to wear and tear or that it has loosened over long time use.

This might be due to blockage in the water inlet valve or low water pressure from the tap.If there’s no blockage and water pressure is normal, please call our service hotline.

Do clean the lint filter after every wash as the washing machines collect lint during the wash cycle and if it is not removed and gets accumulated, the lint may stick on the laundry during washing or block the drain pipe when draining.

a. If the washing load is more than half, do not use the wash / dry for a one time process. Kindly use the wash and then remove those materials which do not require drying. After which you will just dry the remaining clothes.
b. After spin dry, you may spread the clothes out before using drying process.
c. Do not place either jeans or heavy clothing together with light and thin clothing for drying as it would result in creases.
d. Carpets, mats and other large clothing when drying will usually be uneven; after the first drying, do dry it again for another 30-60 minutes.

1. Fuzzy - usually normal household clothing or outside clothing
2. Speedy - lightly stained clothes as washing time shortens.
3. Strong - heavily stained clothes such as socks, sportswear or worker uniforms
4. Manual - you may set your own water level and wash cycle
5. Soft - towel or such types of materials.
6. Blanket - Big items such as blankets, bed sheets, comforters and etc.
7. Delicate - clothes with lace, bras, underwears, silk or any clothes of delicate material

Please ensure drain hose is released and lay down on floor so that water can flow out smoothly. Please do not use too much detergent as many bubbles will be created and slow down draining process.

Top loading washing machine: Will fill the drum with water, using the pulsator and tub to twist and turn in opposite directions to create the current to move the clothes to create washing friction.
Front loading washing machine: With the drum spinning and the adjustment of the spinning of the washing tub, the clothes move up and down resulting in washing and beating.

a. When washing delicate clothing, put them in washing net.
b. Please remove soil or dirt from laundry before washing.
c. Turn woven or knitted items inside out before washing to prevent fabrics from running off.
d. Secure strings and pull zips up before putting laundry into the washing machine.
e. Put bulky or floating laundry in basket first.
f. Before putting the clothes in the washing tub, please clean the heavily stained part such as collars and cuffs using stain remover or spot cleaner.

This is the sound from the balancing water inside the 4-Ply Liquid Load Balancer which is fixed onto the drum. This is to enable the drum to be balanced at all time during operation.

When wash load becomes unbalanced in the drum, more water will be loaded to start the extra rinsing cycle. This is to auto-adjust the clothes and make the washing balance again.

The spinning speed is unable to reach to its optimum value.

1. Check if the amount of powder detergent is too much.
2. Check if the drain hose is clogged.
3. Check if the drain hose is raised up more than 10 cm.
4. Check if the drain hose length is more than 2 meters.

After resolving the above, turn off the machine and turn on again. Select FUZZY course and operate for a cycle without adding detergent.

It means laundry exceeds rated capacity. Please note that for different programs, the allowed maximum capacities are different. The capacity refers to the weight of dry clothes. In cases where wet clothes are loaded, the weight will definitely be heavier than dry clothes and error code will appear.

It means that some moisture or water has seep into the printed circuit board or the wires are wet. Power off the main socket of the washer. Press and hold the Power ON/OFF button on the machine, and switch on main power socket of the washer at the same time. Once the machine is switched on, release your finger from the Power on/off button.

It means motor lock. The operation may stop when this error code appears. Power off the machine's main power socket and wait for half an hour. Thereafter, turn on the main power socket and power on the machine to test run a cycle. If the same error persists, please call Hitachi Customer Service Centre.

It means that the door is unable to lock or unlock. Please turn off the main power socket and wait for 20 minutes and switch it on again. Press Power on button on the machine control panel. If the same error appears again, the lock switch may be faulty.

White stains could be detergent stains or fibres of clothing. Please try the following:

• Reduce amount of detergent.
• Set to a higher water level.
• Wash a smaller load.
• Turn woven or knitted items inside out before washing to prevent fabrics from running off.

Please check the drain hose height and length. Keep the top of the drain hose no more than 10 cm above the floor if it crosses a door sill, etc. If it is higher than 10cm, the water will not be able to drain well and error code will appear. Do not extend the drain hose for more than 2 meters from the washing machine.

Place the washing tub cleansing agent inside the drum and run Tub Clean program. Do not use detergent or bleach for laundry washing.

It means there is no water supply or water supply is very slow. Check the water supply hose and tap. Check for clogging in the water inlet filter. Troubleshoot and restart the main power socket and the machine.

C3 indicates that the door might be open. Check and make sure that the door is closed and aligned properly. Check if any lint or dirt inside the hole of the lock. Troubleshoot and restart the main power socket and the machine.

It means that the dry filter is blocked, drying cannot be completed. Clean the dry filter. Lint may be present at the rear of the dry filter port. In such cases, use the supplied suction nozzle to clean the port.

The required time displayed are for guidelines only. More time may be required depending on the water pressure, the type of laundry, detergent amount and clothes balance condition during the cycle.

1. Please turn off the main power socket. Wait for 20 minutes and switch it on again. Press Power on button on the machine control panel. Open the door when there is no more key sign indicator light.
2. If 1. does not work, power off the main power socket. Open the small window located on right bottom of the machine. Put some cloth underneath the cover as dirty water may flow out. Pull the Emergency Door Release (vertical plastic lever at right upper corner) downward. When the door switch is released, open the door.

It means that there is fault when the drum is rotating. Some object might be below the pulsator or certain parts is/are faulty. If the same error still appears after you reboot the main power socket of the machine and restart the machine, please contact Hitachi Customer Service Centre for help.

This could be due to the following:

• Solidified detergent remains in the detergent tray or detergent casing.
• No water supply from water tap.
• Water supply filter is clogged.

The casing for liquid detergent and softener has a structure that water is drained by siphoning method. As such, some water may remain. Please also check the following:

• Are the casing / inlet and softener cap dirty?
• Is the cap firmly attached in position?

Hitachi's original Wind Iron technology smoothens out wrinkles after washing and spin-drying so that you can wear clothes directly out of the drum and save time on ironing. The big drum allows drum to move freely when drying to prevent wrinkles while the high-speed air flow generated by the Jet Fan Motor stretches out the remaining wrinkles. Furthermore, a light and gentle finishing is provided to the clothes, preventing change in form or shrinkage from heat through Humidity Control and Low Heat Drying with temperature of clothes at about 60°C and below.

Every time you do the laundry, water is also provided to clean the outside surface of the drum and inner side of the outer tub. This area is not visible to user and could accumulate many stains over years of use. This "Auto Self Clean" function ensures the drum can be maintained in a clean condition all the time.

The amount of foam varies depending on the brand of the detergent, amount of detergent, soiling level of the clothes, water hardness and water temperature etc. Detergent may not dissolve well if it is poured directly into the wash tub, so it does not generate foam.

The drum rotation speed changes automatically according to the wash load size and distribution. This is normal.

If you stop 'drying' operation before the laundry is completely dry, the dry filter may be wet. If the dry filter is clogged, it may also be wet. Please remove it, clean it and allow it to dry naturally in air.

The sounds could be from the fan rotation. The fan rotation speed is adjusted during drying operation, causing sounds to fluctuate. The sound could also be due to high speed spinning during drying process. You can adjust the spin speed to low-speed mode.

Operation may stop 1 to 2 hours after [TIME LEFT 10 MIN] indicator appears. This occurs automatically when the machine detects that the laundry is not sufficiently dry.

To reduce the wrinkles on the clothes after drying, you may untangle the laundry manually and smooth out wrinkles after the spin cycle, before running the drying operation.
