Microwave Ovens

A small amount of steam may be emitted, this is not abnormal.

Are you using the correct cooking procedure, wrapping method, food amount, accessories, containers, and so on? For Auto Cooking, if the food is undercooked or overcooked even after you check these points; perform zero-point adjustment of the Triple Weight Sensor.

If you cook consecutive batches of cakes and cookies, use the metal tray after it has cooled down. If the metal tray is too hot, it can result in the food being burned.

Please check if the wall in the oven cavity dirty? Is there any food crumbs or the like on the wall? Wipe them off with a well-wrung wet dishcloth.

After cooking is completed or when “Cancel” is pressed, there are cases where the fan may run for about 10 minutes in order to cool down electrical components, but this is not a malfunction.When cooling completes, the fan stops automatically.

Are you using the metal tray by mistake?
Are you using aluminum foil and heating food?
Did you place aluminum foil on the super grill tray unit?
Are the walls of the oven cavity, door glass, or the like in contact with aluminum foil or metal cooking goods?
Are there food crumbs, or the like on the walls of the oven cavity or ceramic tray?

After pressing the “Cancel” key, are only M and 0 shown in the display area? The store use mode has been set. Press “Cancel” three times and “Start Reheat” once. After repeating this operation three times, the M in the display area disappears and food can be heated.

Hitachi microwave oven employs a combination of 5 different heating methods - microwave, grill, oven, steam, superheated steam. Steam, or superheated steam function does not work alone, and must be combined with other heating methods such as microwave, grill or oven.

The door was opened during adjustment of the Triple Weight Sensor. Close the door and press Cancel. Perform zero-point adjustment of the weight sensor.

Root cause is the ceramic tray is not inserted. Place only the ceramic tray in the oven, close the door, and press Cancel. Perform zero-point adjustment of the weight sensor.

The components of the white matter are what remain when the minerals contained in tap water (calcium and magnesium) evaporate. The minerals are not harmful. Wipe them off using a well-wrung wet dishcloth.

During preheating, the oven lamp is turned off in order to save energy. Press "Start Reheat" during Oven preheating in order to light the oven lamp for five seconds.

During Auto Cooking, the remaining heating time may change during heating in order to make the food cook efficiently.

Please check the following:

• Is the dry yeast amount too little? Has the dry yeast passed its expiry date?
• Was there too much topping ingredients e.g. raisins?
• Is the room temperature too high? If it is, doneness will be poor. Chill ingredients such as powder in the refrigerator first.
• Did you use stale flour? Please use fresh flour.
• Is the water used too little? When less amount of water is used, bread will not rise fully. Use the accurate amount of water.
• Did you use cold water at about 5°C when the room temperature is 25°C and above? If the water temperature is high, excessive leavening will cause poor rising. Use cold water at about 5°C.
• Is the sugar amount too little? Sugar serves as a nutrient for yeast rising. If the amount is little, rising will be poor. Use the accurate amount of sugar.
• Is the bread dough too dry? If the dough becomes dry during leavening, rising (bench time) or shaping process, bread will not rise fully, resulting in poor doneness. Spray water onto the dough surface to make it wet. To prevent drying or temperature decrease of dough during rising (bench time), cover the dough with a plastic wrap or well-wrung wet dishcloth.

Please check the following:

• Is the flour amount too much? Use the accurate amount of flour.
• Is the water amount too much? Use accurate amount of water.
• Is the dry yeast amount too much? Use accurate amount of dry yeast. If it rises too much with the specified amount, reduce dry yeast or sugar by 1/4-1/2. Rising also varies depending on seasons and room temperature.

Answer: This means the method for zero-point adjustment of the Triple Weight Sensor is wrong. Please ensure to place only the ceramic tray in the oven, close the door, and press "Cancel" button. After a few seconds, 0 is displayed and zero-point adjustment is completed.

During oven preheating or in Auto Bakery Menu, the oven lamp is turned off in order to save energy. When you want to look at the oven cavity (inside oven) during preheating, press Start/Reheat button. To turn it off, also press Start/Reheat button.

When the oven cavity is hot or at 'No preheat', the maximum temperature it can set is 250°C.

This is normal. As the preheating temperature setting reflects the temperature detected by the thermo sensor (located at rear corner of the oven), there is an estimate of 20-30°C difference as compared to the temperature measured at the center of the oven cavity. As such, you may need to increase the heating time as recommended in the recipe in order to achieve the same cooking result.

During intermittent operation, the brightness of the oven lamp may change. This is normal.

Depending on the menu option, the moisture from the food becomes water vapor, and the display area and the inside of the door may become cloudy. This is normal. You may wipe them off with a cloth.

The temperature display changes until oven cavity temperature stabilizes. This is normal. As convection heater runs intermittently during preheating, you may hear intermittent sounds. This is normal.

Please check the following:

• Use fresh eggs.
• Eggs do not foam well when bowl for beating eggs has water/oil.
• Eggs may not beat well. Beat the eggs thoroughly so that you can make a stiff peak with the foam that drops from the end of the hand mixer or eggbeater.
• Mixture was over-mixed after adding flour or butter.
